People

How Cust classifies the contacts and users on each company.

Open any company and the People tab lists everyone Cust knows on the account. That includes contacts synced from your CRM and, when you sync product usage data, the people actually using your product.

Each person carries a status that summarizes how engaged they are. Cust recalculates these statuses once a day, as part of the overnight run for your workspace. You can filter the People list by status, for example to find every Zombie account that was provisioned but never used.

Statuses

When you sync product usage data into Cust (for example from Snowflake), each person is classified into one of the following statuses:

  • Contact: the default. The person exists in your CRM but is not matched to a user account in your product.
  • New: the account was created less than 21 days ago and has not recorded any activity yet.
  • Zombie: the account is more than 21 days old and has never recorded any activity.
  • Inactive: the person has activity history but has not been active in the last 30 days.
  • Active: the person has been active in the last 30 days.
  • Power: the person is in the top 10% of usage within their company over the last 30 days.

If you do not sync product usage data, Cust cannot tell these levels apart. People matched to a product account show as User, and everyone else stays a Contact.

You can also mark anyone as Ignored to leave them out of status scoring, which is useful for shared mailboxes or internal test accounts.
